Calling On Signal (G.R. 3.13)
It is a subsidiary signal always provided below stop signals.
Under special instructions, it can be provided below any stop signal except the Last Stop Signal (LSS).
Calling on signal may be taken off whenever the stop signal placed above becomes defective or whenever a train is to be received on an obstructed line.
It has no independent aspect in ON position.
A calling on signal shall show no light in 'ON' position.
In โOFFโ position, it will show a miniature yellow light as per time delay prescribed in SWR.
'OFF' position aspect is โProceed Slowโ and indicates the Loco Pilot to โstop and then draw ahead with caution and be prepared to stop short of any obstructionโ.
It shall not be taken off until the train has been brought to a stop at the calling on zone signal.
Station Master shall reverse the calling on signal knob and press COGGN button. After the prescribed time delay (as stipulated in SWR), the signal will be cleared (for Podanur Panel).
In case of VDU panels, by operating the concerned signal knob, the route will be set automatically (SSI).
After complete arrival of the train, the signal to be put back and route cancellation to be applied in Podanur.
In VDU, only โCONโ cancellation to be operated.
Station Master must make entries in the concerned register with counter numbers.
