• Players : 11 players per team.

• Objective : Score more runs than the opposing team.

1. 1One team bats while the other bowls and fields.
2. 2Batsmen score runs by hitting the ball and running between the wickets or by hitting boundaries.
3. 3A boundary scores 4 runs, while a ball hit over the boundary without bouncing scores 6 runs.
4. 4The bowling team tries to dismiss batsmen by methods such as bowled, caught, run out, LBW, or stumped.
5. 5After all wickets fall or overs are completed, the teams switch roles.

The Ranji Trophy is a domestic first – class cricket championship played in India between teams representing regional cricket associations.

The Competition currently consists of 27 teams, with 21 of the 29 states in and Delhi having at least one representation.

The competition is named after first Indian cricketer who played international cricket, Ranjit Sinhji, who was also known as “Ranji”. He played for England and Sussex.
