BOXING

Boxing is a combat sport in which two athletes compete by throwing punches at each other while wearing protective gloves. The contest takes place inside a square ring under a set of rules and weight categories.

Key Features

  • Players : Two boxers compete against each other.
  • Playing Area : A square boxing ring enclosed by ropes.
  • Equipment : Boxing gloves, mouthguard, hand wraps, and protective gear.
  • Objective : Win by scoring more points, forcing a stoppage, or achieving a knockout (KO).
  • Rounds : Amateur bouts usually have 3 rounds, while professional bouts may have up to 12 rounds.

Basic Rules

  1. 1Boxers may strike only with closed fists.
  2. 2Punches must land on legal target areas above the waist.
  3. 3Holding, tripping, or hitting below the belt is not allowed.
  4. 4A boxer is knocked out if unable to stand and continue before the referee's count of ten.
  5. 5If no knockout occurs, judges determine the winner based on points.
