ARCHERY

Archery is a precision sport in which participants use a bow to shoot arrows at a target. The aim is to score the highest points by hitting the center of the target as accurately as possible.

  • Players : Individual archers or teams.
  • Equipment : Bow, arrows, target, arm guard, finger tab, and quiver.
  • Objective : Score the maximum points by shooting arrows closest to the center (bullseye) of the target.
  • Target : Circular target with colored scoring rings.

Basic Rules

  1. 1Archers shoot a specified number of arrows from a fixed distance.
  2. 2The target is divided into scoring zones, usually worth 1 to 10 points.
  3. 3The closer the arrow is to the center, the higher the score.
  4. 4The archer or team with the highest total score wins.
  5. 5In knockout rounds, archers compete head-to-head using a set-point system.

A person who participates in archery is typically called an archer or bowman and a person who is fond of or an expert at arechery is sometimes called a toxophilite.
